Please reach me on Instagram @bruteboudoir if you cannot find an answer to your question.
bruteboudoir is an idea. that all bodies are beautiful bodies. that we can be who we want to be.
And my goal as a boudoir photographer is to help you envision yourself as that person, manifesting parts of you that you might not get to see very often.
In my photography journey I began to notice that only ...certain... types of models were being approached and highlighted in Dallas. I felt it was my duty to change that, and in some way, not only shape but give back to the community that I love so much.
Brute comes from the idea that not all boudoir is created equally. Sometimes we need more than oversized men's shirts, or bare feet in the kitchen. Some of us need a little edge to our boudoir.
My aim is to broaden what we think of when conjure the term boudoir.
I love shooting traditional or "classic" boudoir - with lots of natural light and shadows that saturate the image to give it that dreamy intimate look. I lovingly call those types of shots the "girlfriend shot", where posing in a big luxurious bed or by the window of a warm morning overlooking the city makes it viewer look like they are right there in that moment with you.
But with this journey I want to offer something new to my clients.
New ideas that might speak to the alternative tastes that I see with a lot of my clients.
There are no rules - so why not shoot boudoir in a cemetery, or abandoned church?
Who says you can't set up a boudoir shoot to look like a post-apocalypse scene or a swim with the creature from the black lagoon and still have that dreamy look?
I will do whatever it takes to show that side of you that isn't seen on a daily basis, but is still you.
A 1.5hr - 2hr session with 3 wardrobe changes begins at $200.
This includes posing and direction so you get the best photos even if you haven ever modeled before, and professional photo editing.
You absolutely can chose to add hair and makeup services!
Editing typically takes 1-2 weeks and after we can meet for a reveal and ordering session where you will have the opportunity to select photos you like and decide how you would like them presented.
My most popular is a photo book, perfect for anniversary gifts and tabletops.
These days the idea of spending money on yourself is hard.
But you are worth it.
And I guarantee you will finish the shoot believing in yourself!
The single biggest motivation for me to begin this journey was the hope that I could reach people of all ages, sizes, and shapes and show them how beautiful they already are.
You are hiring me to show you what others already see.
If you are new to modeling I will show you how to pose, walk you through the process, and let you see each shot as we take it, step-by-step, together.
Your only job during this time is just to relax and have fun. The camera will take care of the rest.
It is completely fair to be unsure about having a male boudoir photographer.
Some clients do prefer a female photographer and I will always tell a client to find the photographer that makes them feel the most confident.
My clients often prefer having a male photographer, for several reasons.
One of the biggest asks from my clients is for a "male's perspective" when deciding on a wardrobe or the final selection of photos.
Having a balanced approach to a look or pose is something my clients also appreciate, as something you focus on might not be something that I think is critical.
And of course, I guarantee an atmosphere of professionalism, comfort, and fun.
I absolutely do not sell anything to a 3rd party.
What we shoot stays between you and I, and if you say it's okay for me to feature you on my site/social medias then it will be with written permission to do so. All of the models you see on my site or social media have given me permission to share their photos.
I would LOVE to share your work with other women so they can see what the experience looks and feels like, but only if you are okay with that. Privacy is of the utmost importance to me and I want you to feel safe and confident knowing that.
We all have days where we wake up with an unexpected pimple, or are a little flush during a photoshoot. Photoshop is great for common issues like these. However my belief is that all bodies are beautiful bodies so I do less editing than most boudoir photographers. I want to show everyone how beautiful you already are and just through the use of lighting and posing to flatter your specific body type, we can do that without Photoshop.
Yes! I highly encourage you bringing a friend to your shoot.
I am currently without a studio. My shoots are currently on location, and I am open to your ideas.
If you feel more comfortable in a private studio setting there are studios we can rent in Dallas, or many of my clients love doing shoots in some of the high-end luxury hotels around Dallas.
Message me on Instagram @bruteboudoir to talk about pricing for a studio or hotel rental.
